Urgoz vs Deep?
I'm just kind of curious which elite mission people prefer. Admittedly I have never done Urgoz though I have done Deep many times.

Try Urgoz without Cookie Cutter Builds. That's the point. Urgoz is just more vulnerable to your average Cookie Cutter Build. I still like playing Urgoz more than the Deep, even though every fricking wannabe pro out there thinks that you can only do Urgoz with lots and lots of rangers either trapping or barraging.
Nonsense -.-
The reason i don't like the Deep is
a) The Part in the Beginning. Unless you're going 4 Monks (and i'm no fan of that) or bring some stupid farming build. Some people will have to wait quite some time until they can play.
b) Bugged Scorpion Aspect. It's annoying as hell. I guess even if it would work correctly it would still be annoying as hell. Getting teleported 5 times in a row is just seriously f***ed up.

Urgoz ambience wins in my opinions, plus I've always liked battles with huge numbers of weak enemies Deep isn't as fun for me =/

Having done both missions...
The Deep is certainly the more complex of the two missions, and the most challenging intellectually. I've been through it with my Mesmer, with a good group. My major complaint is that the opening pretty much forces you to take four monks, and we all know how easy it is to find four monks.
I found The Deep much more open to different character types; we had Mesmers and Assasins in the last group I was with, and you won't see those professions getting into Urgoz very easy.
In fact, that sums up my unhappiness with Urgoz's Warren -- the place it too cookie cutter, and even the cookie cutters argue over which cookie to cut. On more than one run, people were bickering over whether to go B/P or Traps. Urgoz should be beatable with a variety of builds and teams, but the so-called "pros" have ruined the atmosphere with the narrow-minded ignorance.
I prefer the loot in Urgoz, but it remonds me of UW or FoW with conditions and pop-up monsters -- basically, a big SLOG. And being forced into a cookie-cutter role isn't much fun, even if my primary character *is* a Ranger.
So I'll probably play more of The Deep later today.

Both are fun & in the end imho have same level of difficulty. The Deep feels little bit faster to 'run' through though.

Being a trapper, getting a party in the Deep is about impossible.... So I'd say Urgoz. But I can't really anwser the question since I don't know what the Deep is all about.

Try any mission without a cookie cutter build.
The point is Urgoz is very easy. Its not even very hard if you pull well and know what to do in each room. But Urgoz is a joke you can kill him with EoE and running around him.
But yes Scorpion aspect is the most annoying thing I can think of at this moment now that you brought back all those memories of it. :[

Heres a tip for everyone complaining about 'having' to take 4 monks in The Deep.
Take 3 monks and dont put a monk in Room 2. Room 2 doesnt have to aggro anything and the other 3 groups can fight to it. Quite simple. Even when my alliance groups have 4 monks we dont have Room 2 fight.
About the Scorpion Aspect, FFS Anet please fix it. My alliance group did fine til we all got teleported 3-5 times IN A ROW and ended up all balled up inside to maelstroms. GG.
Btw I've only played The Deep so I cant tell.

Urgoz is better. Deep is bugged to shit. The Scorpion Aspect is the most annoying thing since Cathedral Collapse, i counted it last trip and i was teleported 6 times in 15 seconds.
But that said... both suck. They're the most boring thing in the game. 'zomg an area with -15 degen...' We'd better bring Heal Party for that. Or the 'Oh no... i cannot cast spells in here' Send in the warriors and trappers... Then theres 25 damage if we move.... yeah lets just use Trappers to kill everything that appears behind us. Or the exhaustion rooms?
This isn't fun, its just Anet running out of ideas.
